Introduction
OBAL-SERVIS, a.s. Košice provides services in the area of packaging of ready products determined for transportation by road and rail as well as by sea, river and air, deals with the production of wooden transportation packaging (pallets, crates) in compliances transportation regulations (quality certificate, phyto certificate, wood sterilisation in accordance with ISPM No. 15) and sales of packaging materials which protect goods against the influence of weather (corrosion, ...) and provides service of machinery designed for packaging and handling goods - taping and packaging technology, forklift trucks, small transportation technology, ...
The priority of provided services is a permanent decrease in packaging costs, achieved via optimalisation of processes and the use of suitable technological equipment and packaging materials.
The company was established as a specialised firm for the packaging of metal sheets of the former company, VSŽ a.s. (since 2000, U. S. Steel Košice s.r.o.) and on 1 July 1992, commenced its activities with 45 employees in cold rolling division of VSŽ a.s. Activities gradually expanded to also include other divisions.
In 2004 the company became a 100% subsidiary of U. S. Steel Košice s.r.o.
Since 1993, the company has designed and produced machines they use in their own activities and which form company intellectual property, protected by utility patterns and patents in the Industrial Property Office .
Since 1999, the company has a certified system of quality management, an environmental management system (2006) and a health and safety management system (HASAW) (2007). In 2008, the Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs and Family awarded the company the Certificate of "SAFE COMPANY", which confirms that the company has adopted an effective safety management and protection of health at work system and achieved the required level of care and suitable employee working conditions.
